Merrie’s Closet set to provide clothing to students in need

United Way of Central Georgia, alongside Mike and Nancy Kaplan, is proud to bring Merrie’s Closet to its first school in Central Georgia, Elam Alexander. Merrie’s Closet will be a clothing source for students in need. It will include khakis, sweatshirts, t-shirts, socks, underwear, and child/adult diapers. Elam Alexander will serve as the pilot program for Merrie’s Closet with hopeful expansion across Central Georgia.

United Way FIRST STEPS hosts virtual Baby Book Club

United Way of Central Georgia Initiative FIRST STEPS will host its first virtual “Baby Book Club” this Friday, March 26th at 6:30 pm.  FIRST STEPS is organizing the event focusing on early childhood literacy alongside United Way’s Parents as Teachers, the Alpha Rho Chapter of Lambda Kappa Mu, and Amerigroup. Baby Book Club will focus on the importance of reading to a baby from the very beginning (even before birth).
