Community Schools United Coordinator

Purpose:

The Community School Coordinator is a school-based position, designed to address student outcomes year-round. The CSC acts as a strategic thought partner responsible to execute the coordination and alignment of resources within their assigned community school to achieve desired educational outcomes. This position is expected to carry out all the work in partnership with students, families, and the community - under the vision and direction of the school, principal, community schools director and UWCG. Coordination is conducted around pillars of a community school, child well-being index and other relevant frameworks; it is also dependent on needs present in the school and addresses key priority areas, such as: academic, social-emotional, health, basic needs, and others.

United Way of Central Georgia is investing in the role of Community School United Coordinator (CSUC) to support student achievement and wellness. The CSUC works to create a high performing community school partnership wherein students and families are supported, community members are connected, and successful outcomes emerge.

School: L.H. Williams Elementary School- Macon, Georgia

 

Job Requirements:           

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or related field preferred but not required.
  • 1 Year of experience in education or community development related role.
  • Must be able to enter, manipulate, visualize and interpret data to make actionable decisions
  • Must be patient and adaptable to constantly changing environment
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google and computer technology
  • Must have high standards of professional ethics and conduct; must pass background check

                                               

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Leadership
    1. Closely coordinate the efforts with other community school strategy and UWCG team members to promote school readiness, family engagement, resiliency, and child well-being
    2. Promote ongoing communication between service providers, teachers, parents and students
    3. Coordinate needs and resource assessment activities on an ongoing basis
    4. Convene and staff the site-based Community School United Leadership Team, a coordinating body that is co-;ed by the principal and CSUC and may include administrators, teachers, support services staff, partners, parents and other to identify needs, set priorities and coordinate strategy
    5. Recruit and coordinate partners to provide a menu of needs-driven, high-quality programs and services to meet the needs of students, families and community members
    6. Participant in UWCG, school and community leadership teams/meetings
    7. Provide collaborative and timely communication to appropriate partners
  • Integrated Student Supports
    1. Ensure the alignment and integration of all programming, with the principal’s vision and school-day curriculum, to the fullest extent possible
    2. Build strong relationships with school partners and diverse community stakeholders, and identify opportunities for them to align services critical to school and community needs
    3. Coordinate wrap-around services in response to student & family needs (individual and school)
    4. Support student transition times (e.g. from grade-to-grade and school-to-school)
  • Family & Community Engagement
    1. Connect in meaningful ways with families through various means to ensure their voices are heard and needs are being identified and met
    2. Lead or participate in family engagement events with the school and community partners
    3. Coordinate educational opportunities for the family - related to academics, basic life skills or other identified needs
  • Expanded Learning Opportunities
    1. Participate in capacity-building activities, including strategy-wide and site-based trainings, network meetings and study visits, and with the principal, ensure the participation of other site-based representatives
    2. Lead or participate in coordinated activities before, during or after school, as well as the summer months. Maintain a lens of next level and college/career readiness for all students
    3. Bridge communication between school day and afterschool staff
    4. Identify and provide support for students needing equitable academic enrichment (e.g. tutoring)
  • Other Duties
    1. Manage and assist with volunteer and community events representing the school & UWCG
    2. Gather, analyze, and use data to inform decisions and keep meetings results-focused
    3. Set and work toward goals
    4. Maintain purpose and vision of the work to progress in defined long-term outcomes

Resource Development Director

Purpose:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to successfully run the Annual Campaign for a select portfolio of companies and the solicitation and maintenance of individual major gifts within the portfolio. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with other departments to ensure the success of organizational strategies and initiatives. The Resource Development Director is also tasked with identifying new and growth-potential partnerships and implementing special strategies to enhance their relationships with United Way of Central Georgia

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's (Required)
  • Experience:
    • Fundraising or Sales: 2 years (Required)
    • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
  • Ability to commute/relocate:
    • Macon, GA 31201: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implement Fundraising Campaigns
    • Create and implement a plan to achieve the campaign fundraising goal(s) in portfolio(s)
    • Plan, organize and conduct the Annual Campaign in assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Secure support of corporations, individuals, and foundations for assigned programs and initiatives.
    • Analyze and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of past workplace campaigns to develop strategies and plans for continuous quality improvement.
    • Monitor resource development progress and project anticipated results.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to create best practices in gift processing and financial opportunities for donors to create excellent donor experiences.
    • In coordination with the Director of Philanthropy, identify growth-potential companies to engage with United Way of Central Georgia and grow in campaign participation, corporate giving, grants and volunteer engagement.
  2. Manage Relationships with Prospects and Volunteers
    • Manage and implement year-round relationships with corporate partners to ensure long-term partnerships and support of UWCG's programs.
    • Manage relationships with company donors and key stakeholder prospects within accounts.
    • Provide on-going training, direction, and support for UWCG volunteers participating in cabinets, committees and other areas as needed. Conduct meetings with volunteers on a regular basis to assess progress. Assist in setting goals, task identification, motivational ideas, timetables and schedules for responsibility areas, recognition, and reporting.
    • Participate in the identification, recruitment, orientation, and training of other organizational UWCG volunteers.
  3. Special Project- Donor Network Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategies to deepen the donors’ engagement with United Way of Central Georgia
    • Collaborate with the Vice President and Financial Officer to create measurements to show engagement of members.
    • Collaborate with other resource development staff to support them in acquiring new members in and out of the workplace.
    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for the respective group.
    • Coordinate and lead other special projects.
  4. Special Strategic Growth Strategist
    • Work to cultivate emerging companies and forge new United Way of Central Georgia partnerships.
    • Serve as a mentor to other resource development members in identifying key access points for company growth in respective portfolios.
    • Demonstrate excellent leadership and guidance when sharing and implementing vision of special growth strategies, serving as a mentor and role model to the rest of the team.
