This year's ACE Classic not only raised money, but will also likely help save lives in our community. "I have no idea what you do with the rest of your lives or what other philanthropy you support, but I can assure you that the money you invested in the Ace Classic helped to save some lives in our community," said George McCanless President & CEO of United Way of Central Georgia at the ACE Classic luncheon.
The ACE Classic is more than just a fun-filled day of tennis, bridge, and golf. It's a way to give back to women in our community who lack access to receive a potentially life-saving mammogram. This year's ACE Classic was a tremendous success! Together with Butler Auto Group and our generous community, more than $200,000 was raised for mammogram screenings and readings.
"We can’t thank Butler Automotive Group enough for their amazing support of this event. To raise over $200,000 this year, in just the tournament’s 4th year, is a true testament to the Butler family’s commitment to the success of Pink Promise United and all of the women PPU serves, as well as the support of over 300 sponsors, golfers, tennis ladies, and bridge players to Pink Promise United," said Jaime Kaplan, Director of Philanthropy at UWCG.
PPU is United Way of Central Georgia’s answer to filling the critical void in Central Georgia when the Susan G. Komen Foundation closed and pulled out of the area in 2018. The Ace Classic, powered by Butler Automotive Group, was created in 2019 to help raise funds for this vital initiative. In its first four years, over $633,000 has been raised!
This past year, Pink Promise United (PPU) provided mammograms for 765 women. Our program also offers breast cancer awareness education and transportation assistance.
It is through the moments and memories from this event that we hope to inspire our communities to participate in raising awareness and providing care to the most vulnerable women in Central Georgia.
