Larry D. Brumley was appointed Chief of Staff to President William D. Underwood in June 2006, and assumed additional responsibilities as Senior Vice President for Marketing Communications in July 2008. Brumley is in his second term at Mercer, having served from 1991 to 1997 as Senior Associate Vice President for University Relations. In 1997, he returned to his alma mater, Baylor University, where he served as Associate Vice President for Communications and later Interim Vice President for Communications and Marketing.
He also has served as Chairman of Brazos Valley Public Broadcasting Foundation, which operates KWBU-TV and KWBU-FM in Waco, Texas. In addition to his undergraduate degree in journalism from Baylor, he holds an M.A. in mass communication from the University of Oklahoma.
